Planting With Hope

This was our first ministry and in its earliest days, it consisted in an outreach to the women in marginal communities. Along with Dr. Yeny Agila as the Executive Director, women’s groups were formed in different rural communities around Quinindé. A few years later the mission started three women’s groups within the city of Quinindé in marginal neighbourhoods. The purpose of these groups was to reach out to women with the life transforming gospel and to help them to develop healthy lifestyles, micro industries and open up community banks. These groups have been successful and today the groups include men and children.  Some of the groups have bought land and build a community center where their activities are held.  Some of the micro industries developed that have been  successful over the years are the agricultural crops of cacao, maracuya, and bamboo.  Some communities have made jams, chocolates and planted gardens.  Others have focused on raising animals such as chickens and pigs. One community in a beautiful rural setting has prepared some of their homes to host tourists.  Education, discipleship and training has been key to the success of these groups.
